International Coursework

Reflecting on my international coursework as an undergraduate student, I've come to appreciate its significant impact on my worldview and future aspirations. Each course, whether it was delving into International Advertising or exploring Spanish Culture and Civilization, has been crucial in shaping my academic journey.

Studying these global topics has been eye-opening, allowing me to grasp the complex relationships between countries and the profound influence of politics, economics and culture on a global scale. It's not just about retaining facts; it's about learning to analyze and think critically about the world around us.

Moreover, my international coursework directly aligns with my major and career aspirations in public relations. Understanding global trends and cultural aspects is essential in a field where companies operate on a global scale. The knowledge and skills gained from these courses have equipped me with the ability to navigate the challenges of global communication and engage with diverse audiences effectively.

One course that particularly stood out is Global Social Change Communication. Despite its challenges, it provided invaluable insights into the dynamics of social movements and the pivotal role of communication in driving social change. Analyzing social movements through a public relations angle was a thought-provoking experience that deepened my understanding of strategic communication.

I enjoyed seeing how my experience taking international classes influenced my ability to adapt so easily to life in Spain. These courses taught me the importance of understanding other cultures and countries.

Additionally, pursuing a certificate in International Communications has further enriched my international education journey. It complements my major and minor in Spanish, adding an invaluable international perspective to my academic prowess.

Looking ahead, I am grateful for the valuable experiences and knowledge gained through my international coursework. It has not only broadened my understanding of the world but has also prepared me for communicating across different cultures. I am excited to apply these insights and skills to my future academic and professional endeavors.
